Opening the door to life and learning

Year 5

Welcome to the Year 5 page for the school year 2022-2023.

We hope you all had a wonderful half term break and are ready to start the last half term! We will be looking at various topics in Summer Term 2, including renewable energy.

Class 7: Miss Moore

Class 8: Mrs Brown

Class 9: Mrs Hollis & Mrs Rowlands

Year group Teaching Assistants: Mrs Ellis, Mrs Driscoll, Miss Beaumont and Mrs Brooks

Our PE days are Wednesday and Friday. Your child should have the correct PE kit in school (in their lockers) and they will get changed for PE in school for their lesson. For safety reasons please can you: take earrings out or provide your own tape/plasters to cover them and ensure long hair is tied back.

It is expected that your child(ren) will read at home at least 3 times a week and an adult is to sign your reading card. This will be checked on a Wednesday. Please make sure your reading card and book are in school everyday.

You are strongly encouraged to log in to Mathletics, Purple Mash and Times Tables Rockstars regularly. Homework projects will be set-a paper copy will be sent home . Spellings are to be learnt and you will be tested every Friday.
